App blocking is most useful when it adds just enough friction between an impulse and the app that usually absorbs it.
On iPhone, Uncuff uses Apple's Family Controls and Managed Settings frameworks. That means blocking is handled through the same system-level tools Apple provides for Screen Time.
What it can do
Uncuff can apply blocks to the apps, categories, and domains you select. It can also temporarily unblock selected apps and reapply the block when the chosen time is up.
What it cannot do
Uncuff does not read private activity inside other apps, inspect messages, or bypass Apple's permission model. If Screen Time permission is removed, app blocking cannot continue.
Why temporary unblocking matters
Real life needs exceptions. The goal is not to make apps impossible to use. The goal is to make access intentional and time-bound.
